Just a quick question:
I have seen the belief in the 2520 time prophecy divide many folks.
Since you mentioned time-setting errors, would you kindly reply in a nutshell where you stand on that? I have already heard the pro’s and con’s. I’m just wondering how you view that.

I can explain the 2520 in really short terms—as it is NOT complicated as some try to make it. This is our understanding on this subject.
When Miller was studying the Bible he started in Genesis and was headed for Revelation, he did not move any faster than he could understand what he read. When he got to Leviticus 26 he found the “7 times,” after much study on this chapter, he began to understand it to be a time prophecy, the result as “the 2520” as shown on the 1843 chart in the top corner, and believed by ALL advent believers at that time. To help you better understand, here is a picture showing that part of the chart.
Let me explain this top right corner of the 1843 chart. On the top right we have the “7” of the seven times. Now we have the 12 months in a year so 7 x 12 = 84 months. By the Jewish calendar there were calculated 30 days in the month so we take the 84 months x 30 days = 2520 days or years prophetic time (day for a year principle). Now it was established that the beginning of this prophecy was in 677 bc (2Chron. 33:11) so when we subtract 2520 – 677 = 1843 (note they didn’t realize that the prophecy started in the end of the year 677 therefore actually making the end date 1844)
So when we go and read Leviticus 26 it is quickly seen that the “7 times” was the first time prophecy that Miller came to when reading through the Bible. When he got to Daniel he found the 2300 days/years prophecy, the second witness to 1844 many chapters later. The first witness being the “7 times prophecy.”
These two time prophecies establish the beginning of the “Investigative Judgment” in 1844, where the Father and the Son moved into the “Most Holy” which many don’t want to believe, because when one takes up the belief, as many now have, that of the “once saved, always saved,” “no effort needed,” belief that doesn’t fit with an “investigative judgment” because “Judgment” means that you might yet be lost, because the decision is not yet made.
Now, how do we look at all of this in 2016 — The 2520, “7 times” was a time prophecy that ended in 1844, (see 17MR 9.3 for proof of end of prophetic days in 1844)there isn’t any re-application, but there is more to all of this. If we look back to Leviticus 26 and read it, it is about the “blessings” and the “curses” — obey, live, and receive the blessings of God, disobey and die, receive the curse of God. Just that simple! This is God’s message to the people in every generation upon this earth till He shall come to receive us, at that great and final day. The problem comes in when all of us “professed christians” want the blessings but we don’t want to obey!!! So, the prophecy of the 2520 gets thrown out in the trash heap of “obsolete christianity,” with the claim it never was a prophecy, all in the effort to be able to say; “we only receive the blessings, because we are “spiritual Jews,””
Now to sum this up, really short; we believe the 2520 was a time prophecy that has been fulfilled just like the 2300 has been fulfilled. Now, is the time, for us to decide whether we will obey and live or disobey and die.
I hope this has helped you to better understand the “mess” most of these “chart people” are making of the prophecies, because of there belief in what we call the, “Uriah Smith Myth.” We will save that one for a later time.
