A New Thought for a Old Parable

The Parable of the WISE and FOOLISH man

• Hearethto hear, understand

• Doeth —to perform; to execute; to carry into effect; to exert labor, or power for brining any thing to the state desired, or to completion, perfection, obedience to the Law of God. See. Webster 1828; UL 341.3

• Wise man / foolish man = Wise virgin / foolish virgin — Matt. 25:1-13 The wise virgin makes in in then the door (probation) is closed. Foolish are LOST, do not receive the seal of God.

• HouseCharacter=house; see RH May 9, 1899 par. 6

• Rock Jesus Christ=Rock see 1Cor. 10:4

• Rains, floods, winds doctrines of devils, traditions of men, errors of preachers/teachers. See Deut. 32:2; Eph. 4:14

• Sand — many people, See Jos. 11:4; 1Ki 4:20; Jer. 33:22

Mat 7:24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth(obey’s the law)them, I will liken him unto a wise man, (wise virgin) which built his house (Character)upon a rock: (Jesus Christ)

Mat 7:25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; (character) and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock

• Note: See Luke 6:48 “could not shake it” —the rains, floods, winds, are part of the “shaking” that happens during the “tarring time” Matt. 25:5 the shaking is part of the “daily testing” and perfecting of our character. C.O.L. 330

• Note that both groups “hear” but only the wise act upon “obey” the Sayings or Law of God.

Mat 7:26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them NOT, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Mat 7:27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools;

The House is your Character which is built by Obedience to ALL the sayings (laws) of God.

Mat 12:50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Mat 7:21-23  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

2Jn 1:6  And this is (true) love, that we walk (obey) after his commandments.

Obey and live, disobey and die.

2Co 6:2 For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, nowis the day of salvation.
